Priebus: ‘It’s Unbelievable to Be In the Middle of History That Will Be Talked About Forever’

Screen Shot 2016-04-08 at 11.26.17 AMIn case you haven’t heard, everyone is talking about the “GOP civl war” that has been caused by the insertion of Donald Trump into the presidential race. At the very center of it all has been Republican National Committee Chairperson Reince Priebus, who’s been getting hammered by the media for months since the Republican debates started getting out of hand.

Priebus has hit back at these criticisms before, but during a recent radio interview, the embattled politician took a new approach and instead of fighting back, he searched for a silver lining. While talking to former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown on WMEX 1510 yesterday, he was told by the host that people would definitely be writing books about what is happening in American politics right now.

Here’s how he responded:

Well, I haven’t started pouring Bailey’s in my cereal yet, but, I’ve certainly considered it! No, people assume that I’m — people tell me, ‘oh, you’ve got the worst job in the world.’ You know, it’s an incredible job. It’s an incredible opportunity and it’s unbelievable to be in the middle of history that will be talked about forever.

He went on to say that he thinks it is his duty to educate voters about contested conventions, but whether that is actually happening or not is subjective.
