Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle has an interesting relationship with the press. She’s been known for both running away from reporters, and generally sticking with Fox News and more conservative-leaning outlets. In an interview with Fox News’ Carl Cameron, she explains why: because reporters should only ask the questions she wants to answer.
Asked about her media strategy, Angle replied, “We needed to have the press be our friend.” When Cameron noted that that “sounds naive,” Angle stated:
“Well, no. We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.”
Even Cameron couldn’t help but laugh, as she went on to add:
“And when I get on a show, and I say, ‘Send money to SharronAngle.com,’ so that your listeners will know that if they want to support me they need to go to SharronAngle.com.”
Now we know that journalism certainly has its share of problems these days, but Angle seems to have reporters confused with PR agents.
