Steve Bannon: Robert Mueller is ‘An Honorable Guy,’ Should Not Be Fired
“I do not think the president should testify, I just don't… I think he can answer those questions in writing. I do think he ought to answer the questions.”

This doesn’t seem likely to get Steve Bannon back on the president’s good side.
In an interview with the BBC, President Donald Trump‘s former chief strategist lavished praise upon special counsel Robert Mueller — and said that he should keep his job.
“I do not think he should be fired,” Bannon said. “Bob Mueller is an honorable guy. He’s a combat marine, he’s somebody that’s served his country.”
The words from Bannon don’t exactly seem to be in lockstep with Trump’s Wednesday morning “WITCH HUNT!” Tweet.

Still, Bannon didn’t totally abandon the company line.
“I don’t agree with everything on in the special counsel,” Bannon said. He added, “I do not think the president should testify, I just don’t…I think he can answer those questions in writing. I do think he ought to answer the questions.”
