According to Deadspin 20,000 fans of the German soccer club FC Koln traveled to London for a Europa League match against Arsenal.
It seemed like every one of those fans took to the streets of London prior to the match for what was an absolutely surreal procession.
Check out the video below, which shows the Koln faithful moving en masse through Oxford Circus.
The Guardian reports that the match actually had to be delayed for an hour because many of those fans actually tried to storm the gates. The Guardian spoke to an Arsenal fan, Sebastian Bentecourt, who gave his account of the chaos.
“The German fans were kicking in all the gates instead of queuing,” Bentecour said. “It wasn’t helped by some of the Arsenal fans who were singing anti-German songs which was riling them up and asking for trouble. It’s just unacceptable.”
