Trump Drops Weird Late-Night Dining Brag Days After ‘Hitler’-Marred Photo Op — REALLY Buries The Lede
President Donald Trump dropped an odd late-night boast on social media days after a dining-out photo op ended in “Hitler” chants — but ignored some major details in his post.
Trump staged a photo op at Joe’s Seafood in Washington DC to promote his police crackdown Tuesday night, but was booed on his way in and out of the restaurant, and accosted by protesters while inside. The restaurant is nestled within a block of about a dozen law enforcement jurisdictions.
The protesters who were chased out of the restaurant chanted, among other things, “Trump is the Hitler of our time!”
On Friday night, Trump dropped a Truth Social post that seemed to be a rejoinder to those hecklers in DC.
Along with a photo of people watching Marine One fly off into the night from the confines of Casa Cipriani, Trump posted the unattributed quote “Diners at Casa Cipriani were applauding tonight as POTUS left!”

As Reuters notes, the dinner with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani comes amid high tensions over an Israeli airstrike in Doha against Hamas leaders, which Trump has denounced.
“Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and close ally of the United States that is working very hard and bravely taking risks with us to broker peace, does not advance Israel or America’s goals,” Trump said in a statement.
Qatari official Hamad Al-Muftah called it a “wonderful” dinner on X/Twitter.
But for Trump, the key takeaway appears to be that patrons of the restaurant applauded as he departed the city.
