Trump Tower Was Temporarily Renamed ‘Dump Tower’ on Google Maps
An online prankster decided to take a shot at Donald Trump by giving his home a rather unflattering new name on Google Maps.
Trump Tower has been the primary base of operations for the President-elect as he continues to prepare his White House transition. For a few hours on Saturday, though, people took notice of something odd that happened for anyone who happened to look up Trump’s address.

WPIX noted that Trump International Hotel & Tower was also changed to “Dump International Hotel & Tower.” Both names have been changed back, and a Google spokeswoman said that the incident most likely occurred because the site allows users to contribute edits and updates to the Map Maker service.
“Some inappropriate names were surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologize for any offense this may have caused,” the spokeswoman said. “Our teams immediately took action and have fixed the issue.”
