Twitter Erupts Over Carter Page’s Statement That He Has It Worse Than Franken Accusers

Carter Page, former advisor to President Donald Trump, is no stranger to being made fun of on Twitter.
Page, who is being scrutinized for his connections to Russia, is the guy who conducted this mouth-dropping interview with Chris Hayes, after all.
His new misstep may have provided the Internet their biggest opportunity yet to pile on the consistently beleaguered Trump spox.
It has been revealed that he sent Sen. Dianne Feinstein a 15-page letter which covered a range of topics, but mostly painted himself as the world’s biggest victim.
The money quote, however, is above, courtesy of Politico‘s Kyle Cheney, in which Page suggests that Sen. Al Franken’s assortment of alleged victims would have preferred to be groped than go through what he experiences on a daily basis.
“I believe that if you surveyed Senator Franken’s harassment victims, a vast majority of them would most likely prefer being briefly groped rather than suffer the severe invasion of privacy and other historic abuses that I’ve continued to undergo based on the groundless witch hunt,” he managed to squeak out, all in one sentence.
As one can imagine, comparing being alleged to have colluded with Russia to getting sexually harassed did not go over well with media Twitter. They bashed him. Big time.
He’s been on a tear this week

As an aside: “groundless witch hunt,” as opposed to the various well-justified witch hunts?

He told me the same thing, verbatim, when I asked about the letter Feinstein sent him late last month. I thought he didn’t want that on record so I paraphrased. Then he actually got annoyed that I didn’t quote him in full. https://t.co/TvPqTwoXla
