Twitter Roasts Gary Cohn For Saying a Kitchen Can Be Renovated For $1,000: ‘DO YOU WATCH HGTV?’
At Thursday’s White House Press Briefing, President Donald Trump‘s chief economic adviser Gary Cohn took the podium to try to pitch the administration’s tax reform plan to the nation. But one head-scratching comment about the proposed tax cuts caught the attention of Twitter.
“If we allow a family to keep another $1,000, they can renovate their kitchen, they can buy a new car, they can take a family vacation,” Cohn said.
None of these purchase prices seem even remotely realistic — except for possibly an extremely broken down car. Twitter mocked Cohn for seeming to have absolutely no clue about the value of a dollar:

Tax plan. Family that makes 100k saves 1k. That's a 1 percent tax cut. Spokesman said " so they can remodel their kitchen"… For a grand?

To Cohn's credit, he'd be right if this were the 1930's.
