U.S. Intelligence Believes Foreign Hackers Are Spying on Presidential Candidates

ComputerU.S. intelligence agencies believe that foreign hackers are spying on the presidential campaigns, the AP reports Wednesday.

Intelligence officials say that they have observed activity that resembles spying that they had seen during the past two presidential elections.

The AP notes:

Foreign hacking was rampant during the 2008 presidential election and President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney were targets of Chinese cyberattacks in the 2012 campaign. Experts say neither Donald Trump’s nor Hillary Clinton’s campaign networks are secure enough to stop them.

Homeland Security and the FBI will work with the campaigns to strengthen their security.
