WATCH: Bob Dole Pays Emotional Tribute to Bush at Capitol

Bob Dole, the former Senator and Republican presidential candidate in 1996, paid his respects to former President George H.W. Bush at the Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday.

In a stirring tribute, Dole — who became the standard bearer for the Republican party soon after Bush left office — was helped to his feet by an aide. The 95-year-old former senator then saluted Bush’s casket, as the crowd gathered in the Capitol stayed completely silent.
