WATCH: Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor Boxing Weigh-In LIVE STREAM
On Friday afternoon, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor hit the scales on the eve on their junior middleweight boxing showdown in Las Vegas.
In recent years, weigh-ins have become a major event prior to big fights — an opportunity for the general public to get a look at the fighters, as most people are priced out of fight night itself. Friday’s weigh-in figures to be no different, as a large crowd is expected at the all-new T-Mobile Arena.
Mayweather should have no issue coming in at the 154 lb. limit. He’s fought at 147 lbs. many times in recent years. So making 154 should be a breeze.
But McGregor might have trouble making weight — at least according to a rumor floated by Mayweather. In an interview with Fight Hype (via Bleacher Report), the boxing champion believes McGregor might be forced to fork over some cash as a result of coming in above the contractually agreed upon limit.
“I don’t think he’s gonna make the weight,” Mayweather said. “Even if he does make the weight, that’s even better, but if he doesn’t make the weight, we’re still gonna fight. But it’s gonna be a heavy fine. Give me that money.”
Coverage begins at 6:00 p.m. ET. Watch above, via Showtime Sports.
