WATCH: Hillary Clinton Got a Standing Ovation When She Went To See The Color Purple
Yesterday, President-elect Donald Trump was loudly and proudly denounced by a famous actress and, by extension, the hall full of Hollywood stars who cheered her on. Where was his former rival Hillary Clinton yesterday, you ask? Being applauded by a theater full of people as she took in a Broadway show with her family.
Unlike when VP-elect Mike Pence went to see Hamilton, Clinton got a very warm welcome from the cast and audience when she saw The Color Purple.

The performance was the final showing of this revival of The Color Purple. Clinton got three ovations and there was loud cheering when actress Patrice Covington gave her a nod during the farewell address, according to the New York Times.
One audience member who got to shake the former secretary of state’s hand told the Times, “I was having every emotion I’ve tried to get rid of over the past few weeks. She shouldn’t be here. She should be planning her cabinet.”
