WATCH LIVE: Golden State Warriors NBA Championship Victory Parade

The Golden State Warriors are NBA champions. And on Thursday, they celebrate their title in the streets of downtown Oakland.

The Warriors came extremely close to pulling off what would have been a remarkable undefeated postseason, before dropping Game 4 of the NBA Finals to Cleveland. But 16-1 is a pretty good postseason record. This team was clearly the class of the league.

Kevin Durant was brilliant in the NBA Finals, en route to winning Finals MVP. Joining an already potent roster which included Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, Durant’s addition made the Warriors all but impossible to beat.

And so now, the Warriors celebrate their second title in three years. Although, in the immediate aftermath, much of the attention has been on whether the Warriors will participate in another celebration.

A Twitter rumor made the rounds Tuesday and was picked up by a number of major outlets that the Warriors planned to, as a team, skip what has become a traditional White House visit for the NBA Champion. From coach Steve Kerr to Curry, the Warriors have been outspoken critics of President Donald Trump. Though the Warriors haven’t stated their intentions yet, it seems unlikely that they will take part in a White House celebration.

But that is for another day. On Thursday, it’s all about the parade.
