WATCH LIVE: White House Briefing With Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah

Deputy White House Press Secretary Raj Shah fills in for Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday to brief the media.

Shah will likely address the media on the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, over which there has been a great deal of controversy. Right-wing Israelis and Americans have long desired the establishment of an American Embassy in Jerusalem to solidify the sovereignty of a Jewish state with American support. Palestinian protests of the Embassy in Gaza have turned deadly, resulting in over 50 casualties at the time of this reporting.

The White House may also address the internal controversy surrounding a comment made by one of its aides, Kelly Sadler, about the ailing health of John McCain. Sadler, who said that McCain’s vote to confirm Gina Haspel as CIA director didn’t matter because “he’s dying anyway,” still has a job in the administration.

The briefing is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET. Watch above, via the White House.
