WATCH: Morning Joe Airs Full 90 Second Dem Campaign Ad From ‘Dream Candidate’

To close out Morning Joe this morning, Joe Scarborough introduced viewers to Amy McGrath. The former Marine fighter pilot is running for Congress in Kentucky as a Democrat.

Joe was a big fan — really big.

Scarborough was so enamored with McGrath that he even played a campaign ad for her in some of his prime viewing time. The spot ran for longer than 90 seconds and likely would have cost a pretty penny if purchased at standard commercial TV rates.

“Obviously a dream candidate for either party,” he gushed to Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen, who may have been a bit envious himself of the free airtime.

Van Hollen concurred, of course, lauding McGrath and saying that his party was looking to recruit more candidates like her.

Scarborough, a former GOP Congressman from Florida, has certainly come a long way. Last month he announced (on a rival network) that he was leaving the Republican party and becoming an Independent. The decision to run what is essentially unfiltered, free Democratic promotional material will certainly add fuel to the fire for those who say “Liberal Joe” has abandoned his principles.
