WATCH: President Trump Gives Remarks In Long Island On The MS-13 Gang LIVE STREAM

Amid the health care, transgender policy, and Anthony Scaramucci drama going on in Washington D.C., President Donald Trump has gone to Long Island, N.Y. to deliver a speech on the MS-13 gang.

Watch live above, starting at 1:40 p.m. EST.

Mara Salvatrucha, also called MS-13, is a violent gang that started with Salvadoran immigrants in Los Angeles and has grown to a nation-wide threat. The location for Trump’s speech is significant because of the recent murders in that area by the MS-13.

The gang has been getting a lot of attention from the Trump administration recently. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is currently in El Salvador to talk with their attorney general about ways to eradicate the gang. Trump has also used the MS-13 name in the past as a reason to build his wall between the U.S. and Mexico, saying it will keep out gangs and drugs.

Thursday’s White House press briefing was also dominated by talks of the gang, taking up the first half hour of the briefing. Associate Deputy Attorney General Robert Hur and Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Thomas Homan each gave speeches on how they are going to “move forward aggressively” against the gang.

Trump even tweeted during their speeches about MS-13, declaring that we need to “MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!”
