WATCH: Robin Williams Gets Serious in Trailer for His Final Film Boulevard
When beloved comedian Robin Williams took his own life last August, the world responded with an outpouring of grief both on TV and across the Internet. On Wednesday, the trailer and public release date was announced for William’s final film, Boulevard.
William’s career has seen him take on roles ranging from the whimsical and light-hearted to the dramatic and serious. Boulevard takes a look at the more serious side, casting Williams as a man frustrated with his work and marriage, who meets a male prostitute that helps him come to terms with who he truly is. Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul and Kathy Baker of Edward Scissorhands also appear in the film, which is set to be released on July 10.
Boulevard premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April of last year, but has been kept from theaters for over a year. Williams also had posthumous roles in A Merry Friggin’ Christmas and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, but the previous release of both films means that Boulevard will, indeed, be his final live appearance on film.
