WATCH: Security Cam Catches Woman Fighting Carjacking Attempt
A Wisconsin woman is sharing her dramatic story about how she was almost carjacked at a gas station in downtown Milwaukee.
Earlier this week, Melissa Marian posted security footage on Facebook of how she was filling up the tank of her white SUV. While Marian was standing by the pump, another car pulled up beside hers, and a suspect tried to steal the SUV.
Marian saw what the suspect was doing, so she jumped on the hood of her car in order to stop it from being driven away. After a couple of seconds, the suspect got out of the car…while leaving it in gear as it headed into the middle of the road. Marian was able to get in the drivers seat while the suspect got back in his own car and drove away.
Marian wrote on Facebook that there were multiple suspects involved in the carjacking attempt, and that they were laughing at her during the encounter. Marian said that her purse, iPhone, and wallet were stolen, and that the attempted hijacker’s car was a stolen vehicle.
