Weather Channel’s Perfect Shot of Georgia Dome Implosion Ruined When Bus Parks In Front of Camera

Earlier today, the iconic Georgia Dome in Atlanta came crashing down after being a centerpiece of the city for 25 years. The stadium, which was replaced earlier this year by the nearby Mercedes-Benz Stadium, was notable as the only facility in the world to have hosted a Super Bowl, Olympics and NCAA Final Four.

With the historic nature of the dome, a lot of media attention was given to the implosion of the stadium today, with numerous outlets carrying coverage of the demolition. The Weather Channel was one network that thought it had picked the perfect spot for an amazing shot of the Georgia Dome being reduced to rubble.

Unfortunately, just as the implosion began, a MARTA bus pulled up right in front of the camera. And just sat there as the stadium imploded.

Please listen to the commentary on the clip above from the Weather Channel, as you can hear an extremely aggravated person near the camera shouting at the bus to get out of the way. The bus wouldn’t move until the implosion was over because of course.
