Now, the men who engage in the activities shown above are not necessarily “furries.” They are human pups, which is a different subculture altogether. Sometimes it’s about sex, sometimes it isn’t, but it is always about embodying a dog and being controlled by a master.
According to the Guardian, pups tend to be gay men who are in relationships with their handlers, but anyone can be a pup if they want to be!
Those who get into this type of play dress in dog outfits that can come complete with tongues, leather face masks, and tails. Why would someone want to put on a leather dog costume? Well, Tom (aka Spot) puts it like this:
You’re not worrying about money, or food, or work. It’s just the chance to enjoy each other’s company on a very simple level.
Tonight at 10:00 p.m., Britain’s Channel 4 is going to run an entire documentary on pups. The doc is described as a “sympathetic look at the world of pup play” and seeks to present the fetish as a natural extension of an interest in BDSM. Clips will undoubtedly surface online, and when they do, we’ll throw you a bone and embed them.
