Yuge Honesty: In What Area Did President Trump Give Himself a ‘C or C+’ Grade So Far?
President Donald Trump is not a man known for his humility. From exaggerating the size of his inaugural crowd, to the numerous reminders about his own wealth, Trump has reveled in his own braggadocio for literally decades.
But on Tuesday, during an interview with the team at Fox & Friends, the president did — briefly — strike a note of modesty when estimating his own performance as president.
“What grade would you give yourself from an A to an F?” asked Ainsley Earhardt — clearly not seeking any reporting Emmys.
“In terms of effort, which means something, I give myself an A+ … but results are more important,” said Trump. “In terms of messaging I would give myself a C or a C+”
The surprising admission came after Trump addressed the large protests which have taken place around the country since his election. Trump said he regretted that his actions and policies have not been explained “well enough to the American public.”
The president, however, quickly reverted to form. “In terms of achievement I think I would give myself an A because I think I’ve done great things.” During the same interview, the president was also unable to name a single time he was worthy of criticism.
