‘Betraying the Honor of Your Own Wife’: JD Vance Brutally Dragged for Defending Musk Aide Who Posted, ‘Normalize Indian Hate’

JD Vance Stops Short of Calling Putin an 'Enemy' When Pressed By NBC's Kristen Welker: He's an 'Adversary' and a 'Competitor'

Vice President JD Vance defended a staffer with Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” after the 25-year-old was found to have made blatantly racist statements last year.

On Thursday, The Wall Street Journal identified an X account belonging to Marko Elez, who is one of the young DOGE employees running roughshod over various federal agencies.

“Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool,” the account posted in July.

In September, the account tweeted, “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity.” Another post from that month stated, “Normalize Indian hate.”

Shortly after the report was published, the White House announced Elez had resigned. However, on Friday, he was reinstated after Vance defended him. Notably, Vance’s wife is of Indian descent and has three children with her.

Vance tweeted:

Here’s my view: I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life. We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever. So I say bring him back. If he’s a bad dude or a terrible member of the team, fire him for that.

Later, Musk announced he would rehire Elez after running a poll about it on X.

“He will be brought back,” the billionaire tweeted. “To err is human, to forgive divine.”

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who is of Indian descent, took exception to Vance’s position and asked the vice president if he would tell Elez to apologize for saying, “Normalize Indian hate.”

Vance bizarrely responded by telling Khanna, “Grow up.” The veep’s response elicited strong and negative reactions.
