Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance condemned a “disgusting” comment made by President Joe Biden on Tuesday, just one day after he said Americans “have to stop getting so offended at every little thing.”

After comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating pile of garbage” during a speech at former President Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, Vance shot down those who took offense over the remark.

“I’m not going to comment on the specifics of the joke, but I think that we have to stop getting so offended at every little thing in the United States of America — I’m so over it,” he said.

On Tuesday, however, Vance expressed outrage after Biden responded to Hinchcliffe’s joke by saying, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his [Trump’s] supporters.”

“This is disgusting. Kamala Harris and her boss Joe Biden are attacking half of the country,” reacted Vance. “There’s no excuse for this. I hope Americans reject it.”

Social media users were quick to respond with Vance’s own comments from the day before about Americans being too easily offended.

Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally received criticism from several Republicans, including Megyn Kelly and former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

“It was too bro-tastic. Okay?” reacted Kelly. “You’re trying to win an election in which you’re hemorrhaging female voters. Maybe when you present in front of hundreds– thousands at least in Madison Square Garden, you clean up the bro talk just a little so you don’t alienate women in the middle of America who are already on the fence about Republicans.”

She questioned, “Do they have no women advising their campaign?” before comparing the remarks made at the rally to giving “themselves a big black eye.”

Haley had a similar reaction on Fox News, Tuesday, criticizing the “bromance” and “masculinity stuff” on display at the rally and warning it alienate female voters.
