Heather Nauert Has Withdrawn Herself From Consideration For US Ambassador to the UN

On Saturday, State Department spokeswomen Heather Nauert withdrew herself from consideration to be the replacement to Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the U.N.:

Josh Dawsey, White House reporter for the The Washington Post, also confirmed the news.

In a statement, Nauert said she was grateful to be considered for the post, but had to say no due to her family.

“The past two months have been grueling for my family and therefore it is in the best interest of my family that I withdraw my name from consideration,” she said. “Serving in the Administration for the past two years has been one of the highest honors of my life and I will always be grateful to the President, the Secretary and my colleagues at the State Department for their support.”

Her consideration was criticized by some because of her experience of a Fox News host and relatively short time at the State Department.
