Joe Scarborough: Lindsey Graham Has Gone from McCain’s ‘Wingman’ to Trump’s ‘Carnival Barker’
Joe Scarborough, who has defended Brett Kavanaugh through his nightmarish Supreme Court confirmation process, ripped Sen. Lindsey Graham for his own furious demonstration at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday.
The South Carolina Republican launched into an raging tirade at Democrats during the hearing (“What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life!”) accusing them of playing political games with the allegations against Kavanaugh.
The host of Morning Joe wasn’t buying it, taking aim at Graham’s relationship with the late Senator John McCain.
“First of all, Lindsey Graham has gone from being John McCain’s wingman in politics to becoming Donald Trump’s carnival barker,” Scarborough said.
“It’s an amazing transformation,” Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson said.
“He had an audience of one a month after John McCain, a guy who worked with Ted Kennedy, who worked with people across the aisle who was attacked for actually trying to have the political courage to be bipartisan,” Scarborough said. “And look at Lindsey Graham now. I hope he’s proud of himself.”
The Senate is set to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court on Friday. Sen. Bob Corker announced Thursday night that he would be voting in favor of Kavanaugh, leaving three Republican votes undecided: Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Jeff Flake.
Oh, look who was spotted “huddling” late Thursday night…
