NBC’s Chuck Todd Calls Hunter Biden Guilty Verdict a ‘Really Good Day for the American System’

NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd declared in the minutes after Hunter Biden being found guilty of three felony gun charges that it was a “really good day for the American system.”

Todd joined MSNBC on Tuesday shortly after the president’s son was found guilty on three felony gun charges. Hunter Biden was accused by prosecutors of lying about his drug addiction when obtaining a firearm in 2018. Todd noted not many countries would allow the president’s son to be prosecuted.

“There are not many countries in the world where the son or daughter of said country would get prosecuted in their judicial system,” he said. “This is how different America is, and I do think this is a really good day for the American system.”

Todd added that the location of Delaware and presence of First Lady Jill Biden at the trial, which he argued could be seen as trying to put a “finger on the scale,” didn’t matter in the end for the jury.

“Think about this. He got convicted by a jury in Delaware… they’re arguably the most well-known family in the state of Delaware, perhaps responsible for so many things that Delaware has from the government today, so the location of this guilty verdict mattered,” he said.

Todd argued that the case likely would not have been brought if Joe Biden were not president and claimed Hunter Biden was arguably held “more accountable” because of his position.

“Our system is different. There is a fairness to it where we really do aspire that nobody is above the law,” the former Meet the Press moderator said. “I think it’s possible that there is a contrast here that the public may see between how Trump and his partisans handle the rule of law versus how Biden and his partisans handle the rule of law.”
