Nikki Haley Vows to Soldier On After Defeat to Trump: ‘This Race Is Far From Over!’
Despite her loss to Donald Trump in New Hampshire’s primary election, Nikki Haley insisted that her run for president is not over yet.
The polls ahead of the election showed that the former South Carolina governor needed a major upset to overcome the former president in the Granite state. Trump has been called as the winner, but even though it wasn’t a complete blowout, political observers have been skeptical over how long her candidacy can remain viable unless she could eke out the win.
In Haley’s Tuesday night speech from Concord, she congratulated Trump on his win, saying “He earned it and I want to acknowledge that.” However, she proceeded to snub “the political class” who are inclined to say she can no longer effectively rival Trump.
Well, I have news for all of them. New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not the last in the nation. This race is far from over!
There are dozens of states left to go. And the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina. At one point in this campaign there were 14 of us running, and we were at 2 percent in the polls. Well, I’m a fighter. And I’m scrappy. And now we’re the last ones standing next to Donald Trump.
