Nevada election number cruncher Jon Ralston marveled on Thursday at how much further ahead Donald Trump ran of the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in the state.

Ralston, who wrongly predicted a narrow victory for Kamala Harris in the state, wrote on X, “NV numbers tell an amazing story.” He added:

Trump: +51K over Harris, or just over 3.5% — 17K voted for none of the above
Brown: -13K losing to Rosen, -1%–39K (!) voted for NOTA
Trump has 67K (!) more votes than Brown.
You can hug MAGA all you want, but only Trump is Trump.

Incumbent Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) defeated her GOP challenger Sam Brown in a razor-thin race that was only called on Thursday as the margin was so slim. The Associated Press still had yet to call the race as of Thursday evening while Rosen led by only one-tenth of a percentage point.

Decision Desk HQ, however, called the race as Brown was thought to not have any statistical path to victory.

The Hill noted that Brown was plagued by the issue of abortion throughout the race, which may help to explain his loss. “The retired Army captain came under scrutiny during the race over his position on abortion, having once backed Texas’s former 20-week abortion limit when he was then a state legislative candidate. Brown said he was not in support of federal restrictions on abortion and would not change Nevada’s current regulations, where abortion access is legal up to 24 weeks. Brown has said on his campaign website that he is “pro-life” and backs exceptions to rape, incest and life of the mother,” reported The Hill.
