Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) endorsed gun control activist David Hogg for a top role at the Democratic National Committee on Friday
In a social media post, Walz claimed that Hogg represents the “leadership our party needs right now” while praising the 24-year-old for being “bold, dynamic, and courageous.”
Hogg came to prominence in 2018 as a student survivor of the Parkland school shooting. He has led multiple protests, marches, and boycotts in support of gun safety legislation.
Kamala Harris’ former running mate posted the endorsement on X alongside a photo of the pair standing together.
“David Hogg represents exactly the kind of bold, dynamic, and courageous leadership our party needs right now. He has a unique ability to connect with the American people and to speak to the strengths of our party,” Walz wrote to his followers.
