‘Not Even Close’: Trump Tells NRA Crowd Not Even Lincoln Has ‘Done More For The Black Individual In This Country’ Than Him

Former President Donald Trump told a cheering crowd at an NRA conference that he has “done more for the Black individual” than Abraham Lincoln.
The Republican nominee spoke to a crowd of conservatives at an NRA Leadership Forum in Dallas on Saturday, where labeled himself as a champion for the Black community. Even he claimed he did more for Black Americans as president than Lincoln who famously abolished slavery.
Trump made sure to refer to himself in third-person while describing the his accomplishments under his first-term in the Oval Office. Trump famously commuted the sentences for non-violent offenders and pushed for prison sentencing reform while in office.
“And honestly, there’s been no president. Since Abraham Lincoln and perhaps in a certain way, including Abraham Lincoln. But there’s been no president since Abraham Lincoln that has done more for the black individual in this country than President Donald J. Trump,” he said.
Trump added, “There’s been nobody. Not even close.”

His comments were widely mocked on social media by leftwing accounts and activists on Saturday.

Was it the full page ad he put in the paper calling for the execution of the now exonerated Central Park 5 or the time he told American congressional women of color to “go back to where they came from”? Or the time he said the Black community liked him because he’s been charged…
