Trump Posts Rant Complaining ‘Radical Left Democrats’ Are Bringing Back ‘Dying’ Epstein Case

President Donald Trump posted a rant on his Truth Social account Friday morning blaming Democrats for bringing the “dying” Epstein case “back to life” to “deflect and distract,” even though several congressional Republicans are also calling for the release of the Epstein files.

Trump has been plagued by issues connected to deceased sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein throughout his second term. Epstein and his former girlfriend and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, conducted a years-long scheme to recruit young women and underage girls to have sex with Epstein and other older men, and sometimes be abused by Maxwell too. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while facing additional charges and Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after she was convicted of one count of sex trafficking a minor, one count of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and three counts of conspiracy.

The problem for the Trump administration is that much of the outrage over the Epstein case is coming from the right, from his own MAGA base, with even Republicans publicly demanding the release of the “Epstein files,” specifically a rumored client list.

A press conference earlier this week with some of Epstein and Maxwell’s victims renewed calls for the release of documents and names of the men who abused them — and several women who spoke said Epstein had bragged about his friendship with Trump.

The president dismissed the Epstein matter as a “Democrat hoax” when asked Wednesday about the victims’ comments at the press conference, and made similar claims in his Truth Social post Friday, accusing Democrats of being “nowhere to be found” during Epstein’s trials but now bringing back the “dying” Epstein case to “deflect and distract” from his “great success.”

Trump’s post read:

The confused and badly failing Democrat Party did nothing about Jeffrey Epstein while he was alive except befriend him, socialize with him, travel to his Island, and take his money! They knew everything there was to know about Epstein, but now, years after his death, they, out of nowhere, are seeming to show such love and heartfelt concern for his victims. Does anybody really believe that? Where were they during his very public trials, and for all of those years before his death? The answer is, “nowhere to be found.” The now dying (after the DOJ gave thousands of pages of documents in full compliance with a very comprehensive and exacting Subpoena from Congress!) Epstein case was only brought back to life by the Radical Left Democrats because they are doing so poorly, with the lowest poll numbers in the history of the Party (16%), while the Republicans are doing so well, among the highest approval numbers the Party has ever had! The Dems don’t care about the victims, as proven by the fact that they never did before. This is merely another Democrat HOAX, just like Russia, Russia, Russia, and all of the others, in order to deflect and distract from the great success of a Republican President, and the record setting failure of the previous Administration, and the Democrat Party. The Department of Justice has done its job, they have given everything requested of them. It’s time to end the Democrat Epstein Hoax, and give the Republicans credit for the great, even legendary, job that they are doing. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) issued a subpoena late last month to Epstein’s estate seeking documents that included the rumored client list and a 50th birthday book compiled by Maxwell. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) filed a resolution calling for the Department of Justice to release the Epstein files with minimum redactions as needed to protect victims, and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has loudly voiced her support for the release of the files as well.
