Trump Terminates Biden-era Oil Deal With Venezuela For Not Transporting Deportees ‘At Rapid Pace’

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. is terminating concessions given to Venezuela over a Biden-era oil agreement.

The president made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon via Truth Social by claiming that Venezuela is transporting “violent criminals” deported from the U.S. at a “rapid pace.” Trump also blasted President Joe Biden for making the “concession agreement” with Nicolás Maduro’s regime.

“We are hereby reversing the concessions that Crooked Joe Biden gave to Nicolás Maduro, of Venezuela, on the oil transaction agreement, dated November 26, 2022, and also having to do with Electoral conditions within Venezuela, which have not been met by the Maduro regime,” Trump wrote to his followers on Truth Social.

Maduro and his government have long rejected sanctions placed on them by U.S. by claiming they are illegitimate measures designed to cripple the Venezuelan economy.

Since assuming office, Trump has placed economic pressure on Latin American countries over accepting and transporting deportees returning to their respective countries.

Trump added, “Additionally, the regime has not been transporting the violent criminals that they sent into our Country (the Good Ole’ U.S.A.) back to Venezuela at the rapid pace that they had agreed to. I am therefore ordering that the ineffective and unmet Biden ‘Concession Agreement’ be terminated as of the March 1st option to renew. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
