Country Music Star Reba McEntire Hits The Over On Super Bowl Anthem Length On Very Last Note

Country music legend Reba McEntire did more than a few bettors a solid when she milked the final note of the national anthem at Super Bowl LVIII.

As the legalization of sports betting continues to grow nationwide, sportsbooks are giving bettors the opportunity to bet on every aspect of major sporting events. One of those bets Sunday was the length of the national anthem.

Sportsbooks set the over/under at 90.5 seconds. As McEntire sped through the anthem, it looked like she might finish in well under a minute and a half. When she got to the final line, however, she repeated “the brave” after singing, “And the home of the brave.” That brief repetition was more than enough to go over 90.5 seconds.

According to BetOnline, time stops when the final note is sung.

Naturally, the upset rocked the betting world.
