‘Ridiculous!’ Fox Sports Analyst Chris Broussard Goes OFF on Aaron Rodgers for Mysterious Absence From Jets’ Mandatory Minicamp

Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard called out Aaron Rodgers for inexplicably missing the Jets’ first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday.

The morning of the team’s minicamp, coach Robert Saleh announced two unexcused absences for the day: edge rusher Haason Reddick and Rodgers. While Reddick is holding out for a new contract, Rodgers’ absence was more ambiguous.

“Aaron and I had spoken before OTAs started,” Saleh said to the media Tuesday morning. “He’s been very good in communication. He’s been here the entire time. It’s unexcused, but he had an event that was very important to him, which he communicated.”

Because Saleh didn’t get into specifics, it’s led to online speculation on Rodgers’ whereabouts. On Tuesday’s episode of First Things First, Broussard went off on Rodgers for causing the media frenzy.

“Saleh said, ‘Selfishly, I want everybody there,'” Broussard said. “It’s a mandatory practice! You’re not being selfish, Robert! You’re not! They’re supposed to be there! Aaron Rodgers is the one being selfish — and you guys know I’ve tried to believe in him with the Jets. This is ridiculous! If it’s not family or health-related, then you should be at practice! There is no other excuse!

“This sets such a bad tone for the start of minicamp; and we know they love Rodgers, but they’re human beings, too. And they’re like, ‘Where’s Rodgers?'”

On Wednesday, Saleh reiterated that he and Rodgers were “on the exact same page” and the absence hasn’t caused any issues with the team.
