A lawyer who represented the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting called out Aaron Rodgers for his supposed denial of the tragedy.

CNN on Wednesday reported that Aaron Rodgers once shared his conspiracy theories about the shooting with one of its reporters in 2013. The report came just a day after Rodgers was listed as a potential running mate for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The revelation was met with outrage online, prompting attorney Mark Bankston to rip the New York Jets quarterback in a lengthy Twitter thread.

As noted by his Twitter bio, Bankston represented the families of the victims when they sued InfoWars host Alex Jones for spreading similar theories. Jones was ordered to pay more than $1 billion to the families for defamation.

“To start, I can’t say it really surprised to me to see you had been spreading nonsense about Sandy Hook because although I have not followed your sports career closely,” Bankston said, “I am quite aware that you are a slow-witted, gullible person.”

Bankston went on to call his beliefs “screwball propaganda” and called Rodgers himself a “poor schmuck who latches onto claptrap.”

“As the Greeks instructed: ‘Gnōthi sauton.’ Know thyself,” Bankston continued. “You are a dumb jock. God apparently gave you many talents, but critical thinking is not one of them.

“There’s more I could say about the limitations of your character and judgment, but instead I’ll conclude with a very simple request that I hope will reach your ears: Could you please shut the fuck up?”
