Travis Kelce Calls Out the NFL for Hyping His Relationship With Taylor Swift: ‘They’re Overdoing it’

Even Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has become overwhelmed by the NFL’s coverage of his budding relationship with Taylor Swift.

Swift attended her second Chiefs game Sunday since Kelce confirmed the two were seeing one another. Many took issue with the broadcast constantly cutting to Swift’s suite throughout the Sunday night game, and that frustration was only amplified when the league even changed its social media profiles to reflect this media frenzy.

On Wednesday’s episode of the Kelce’s New Heights podcast, he admitted to his brother — Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce — that the league is doing too much.

“I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game,” Travis said. “I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time, I think they’re overdoing it a little bit — especially my situation. I think they’re just trying to have fun with it.”

Jason suggested that the NFL takes cues from the NBA, which regularly has a handful of high-profile celebrities at big-market games.

“Basketball has it figured out,” Jason said. “They’re all courtside. They’re sitting there. They show them once or twice, but they get back to the game. The NFL’s like, ‘Look at all these A-list celebrities. Keep showing them.’

“Dude, listen, you show them once. Let them know they’re there. Maybe after a touchdown, you get a little clip; but you can’t be overboard with it.”
