President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on the “mystery” drones that have taken to the skies in recent nights over New Jersey and other states in a typo-riddled Truth Social post on Friday evening.
The objects, which have been called everything from civilian aircraft to pleasure drones to UFOs, have rattled people nationwide but mostly in the Garden State.
Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan posted a video of the drones on his X page Friday and called the response to whatever they are “unacceptable.”
In a post that was riddled with spelling errors, Trump commented about the sightings and implied the government knows what they are but said if that is not the case they must be shot down.
“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shot them down!!! DJT.”

Biden administration national security spokesperson John Kirby said at a press conference on Thursday that the objects being reported are nothing to worry about.
“Upon review of available imagery, it appears many of the reports of sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully,” Kirby said. “We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat, or have a foreign nexus.”
In his comments about the mysterious aerial objects, Hogan wrote:
We are being told that neither the White House, the military, the FBI, or Homeland Security have any idea what they are, where they came from, or who has launched or is controlling them–and that they pose no threat.
That response is entirely unacceptable. I join with the growing bipartisan chorus of leaders demanding that the federal government immediately address this issue. The American people deserve answers and action now.
