ABC News Correspondent Abbie Boudreau And Producer Injured In “Serious” Accident
ABC News correspondent Abbie Boudreau and producer Mary Bruce were hospitalized Monday after the vehicle they were in was rear-ended by a semi near Richmond, Virginia this morning.
According to an email sent to staffers by ABC News president David Westin, both are expected to be fine. But an ABC News spokesperson says it was “very scary for them, and very scary for us.”
Here’s Westin’s note:
Abbie and Mary were travelling on assignment in Virginia this morning when they were in a serious car accident. Both were treated at a local hospital. Mary has been released, while Abby is undergoing a few more tests. From what we know at this point, both should make a full recovery. Some of our colleagues from the Washington Bureau are with them to make sure that they have everything that they need.
Boudreau joined ABC from CNN in November. She’s based in the Los Angeles bureau. Before CNN, Boudreau worked at local stations in Phoenix, Kalamazoo, MI and Waterloo, IA.
