Cleveland Police Chief Calls for Peaceful Protests: ‘Calmer Heads Have to Prevail’

 

cleveland police chiefCleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams spoke this afternoon about Officer Michael Brelo being found not guilty of manslaughter after fatally shooting two unarmed people in their car.

Williams said the PD will “make sure that any and all violations of our policies and procedures are dealt with to the fullest extent possible.”

He credited how Clevelanders conducted themselves in a “peaceful, proactive fashion” as the trial had been going on and assured that the police are there to protect the community, especially when they want to make their voices heard.

And so, Williams said, “Cleveland has set a standard, and I want to ensure that we continue to set that standard as we move forward.”
