CNN’s Bakari Sellers: Trump Did Not Have the ‘Testicular Fortitude’ to Mention the Victims Today
CNN’s Bakari Sellers did not hold back when talking about President Donald Trump‘s call for unity on Wednesday night.
In fact, he suggested that if the president did not have the “testicular fortitude” to talk about the victims of today’s bomb scares then, at least as far as he was concerned, there was no reason to believe his unity talk at all.
Sellers comments came during a segment on Cuomo Prime Time where talk turned to the disturbing events of the day which not only impacted CNN but the Obamas, the Clintons, Rep. Maxine Waters and others, as well as Trump’s call for unity both at the White House and at the beginning of tonight’s rally.
Sellers started out by noting that Trump showed cowardice today.
“The problem is this, the bar is so low for the 45th president of the United States,” he said.”There’s no way he was going to go out today and unify the country.”
Then he said this: “And, you know, being the leader of the hate parade is one way to say it, and David may say that’s hyperbole… but I can say something that’s an actual fact. The President of the United States tonight or today displayed cowardice.”
He then said the reason that he displayed cowardice was because he had a moment before him and he is the only President of the United States.
“The reason he was a coward is because he didn’t mention the victims today,” Sellers continued on.”He didn’t even stand up and mention the victims. So if you don’t have the testicular fortitude to mention the victims and talk about how we rectify this problem, then there’s no way I can believe you actually stand for unity.”
