CNN’s Brian Stelter: If You Watched Fox News, ‘You Might Have Thought Hillary Clinton Was President’
Over the past week or so, Fox News’ opinion shows have devoted much of their time to two stories — the Uranium One deal which was reported on two years ago and the revelation that the notorious Trump/Russia dossier was funded in part by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
During today’s broadcast of Reliable Sources, CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter stated that this was all part of a “campaign of confusion” by the network.
“It is one of the most important things happening in American politics today,” he said. “If you watched the opinion shows on Fox News this week, you might have thought Hillary Clinton was president. Not Trump. Clinton.”
The CNN host went on to highlight a number of Fox News segments from the past few days, including former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski claiming that “we should be focusing on the continued lies of the Clinton administration.”
“The Clinton administration he said,” Stelter noted. “Finally, Fox has found the real Russia scandal. That’s how it’s portrayed.”
He further stated that Fox News is telling their viewers to “hate Hillary Clinton” before playing a clip of Judge Jeanine Pirro exclaiming that it is time to lock Clinton up.
“No subtlety there,” Stelter remarked. “She combined the uranium story with the bogus idea that the Dems cooked up a Trump/Russia dossier story full of lies. Where, as you know, parts of the dossier have been confirmed.”
He continued, “But here’s the question for you. Are you confused yet? That’s the campaign. It’s really a campaign of confusion.”
