Democrat LOSES IT on Marjorie Taylor Greene in Hearing: ‘No, No, No, No, No!’
A meeting of the Delivering on Government Efficiency subcommittee descended into chaos on Wednesday during an argument over speaking time.
Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) went off on the subcommittee’s chair, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), as Democrats argued with her about members’ allotted speaking times. At one point, Greene cut off Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) and said, “The Gentlelady’s time is expired.”
“You spoke for over a minute more than your allocated time,” Stansbury protested.
“You took a minute of my time, wasting my time on a non-point of order,” Greene said.
Moments later, Lynch and his thick Boston accent got involved, which led to this exchange:
LYNCH: Madam Chair, I had a point of order. Could we just have the timekeeper, you know, log the time between both the Democrats and Republicans, and then we rebalance them so that we each have equal time? That’s pretty basic.
GREENE: We will consider that. Thank you.
LYNCH: No, no, no, no, no, no, no! That’s not a suggestion. Those are the rules!
GREENE: Enough, enough.
LYNCH: No, no, no, no, no! Hey, look, either we go by the rules or we’re outta here!
GREENE: We’re keeping equal time.
Greene was appointed as DOGE subcommittee chair at the beginning of this year. The aim of the panel is to work in tandem with the “Department of Government Efficiency,” which is helmed by Elon Musk, though he said he is scaling back his involvement. The group has been responsible for tens of thousands of federal layoffs and the freezing of congressional appropriated funds of various agencies.
