Fox Host Calls Out House Republican Over Lack of Evidence in Biden Probe: Are Americans ‘Getting Tired’ of This?
Fox Business host Stuart Varney spoke with Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) on Thursday about Hunter Biden’s deposition before Congress the day before. Hunter Biden appeared before Congress to answer questions related to the House GOP’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden regarding allegations of corruption.
“Of course, Hunter denies his dad had any connection to his business dealings. Is that how it came across to you yesterday?” Varney asked to kick off the interview.
“Well, he’s very it was obviously they were very polished, very well prepared. And I think the thing I notice the most part is two things I didn’t learn yesterday. I didn’t learn what the actual business he was in that was making hundreds of millions of dollars,” Armstrong replied, adding:
And I learned that when answers were convenient for Hunter, then he would talk about them. And when they were inconvenient for him, he would bring up his own addiction and his lack of memory because he was in a bad place. So I think the deposition got us what we needed to get. I think the next step is a live hearing. I think the American people need to see what’s going on.
“Congressman, do you think maybe the American public is getting a little tired of this? Because they can’t they can’t understand it. It’s complicated. They don’t know all the names and places and faces. And you haven’t proved the basic point yet that President Biden was directly involved. Is the public getting tired of it?” Varney followed up.
“Well, large-scale international money fraud schemes are, by their very nature, complicated,” Armstrong replied, adding:
But I think the American public is tired of a two-tiered justice system and somebody being treated completely different, particularly when they see what’s going on with President Trump at this point in time. And we have to take these facts where they go. You have to deal with it. I mean, there is no doubt by anybody with two eyes and two ears that Hunter Biden was selling access to President Biden at that time, Vice President Biden. The only question is, did this continue? If you think a family as close as this family was, this is the one place where they built absolute firewalls. And that just simply belies the truth.
“You know, you might not have the votes to go through with impeachment and probably not with a public hearing,” Varney noted.
“Yeah. I mean, we should I think we have I think the public hearing is the next step. I think we need to continue where we’re at. We have a two-vote majority. We don’t. I mean, until we get anything passed, we don’t necessarily have the votes for anything, but I think this investigation is worthy. And I think this investigation is worthy of being shown to the public,” Armstrong replied.
“What do you do if Hunter and his lawyer say, no, we’re not going to do a public appearance?” Varney followed up.
“Well, I would subpoena them. I mean, they I mean, this is part of that two-tier justice system. I think they delayed, delayed, delayed. I mean, the prosecution was delayed three years longer than it should have been. They messed around with getting the deposition scheduled, and I think we should. I mean, if they say no, I think we should exercise our congressional authority to make them,” Armstrong insisted.
