Fox Hosts Tear Into IRS’ Lois Lerner For Refusing To Resign: ‘What Kind Of A World Is This?’
The hosts of Fox & Friends grew even more appalled at IRS official Lois Lerner on Friday morning, criticizing her for reportedly refusing to resign. With Lerner on administrative leave, we’re indefinitely paying her salary and there’s not accountability, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade charged.
With a graphic showing Lerner’s salary for the past few years (around $170k plus a bonus), Anna Kooiman questioned whether the taxpayers should have to continue to pay her. Theoretically pleading the Fifth isn’t an indication of guilt, Kilmeade acknowledged, but: “If you have nothing to hide, you should be talking.”
“What kind of a world is this?” he asked (one that ain’t fair, Brian). “When you can say no when people ask you to resign because you’re doing a poor and corrupt job.”
Doocy focused on the amount of money Lerner makes, noting that her salary is higher than that of a U.S. senator — and she’s not a top official.
There was outrage all around, as Kilmeade jumped back into the discussion to note the only thing that’s been consistent: “Nobody ever takes responsibility for anything. It’s never your fault. … And it just seems to be okay.”
“It’s just not the way things are supposed to work,” he lamented.
