Fox News’ Kurtz Knocks ‘One-Sided Coverage’ of Trump-Morning Joe Feud: Attacks on Trump are ‘Ignored’

The list of media personalities defending President Donald Trump in his battle with Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski is not very long (nor, as our Faith Gates points out, is it very surprising). But you can now add one name to that list: Fox News media reporter Howard Kurtz.

The MediaBuzz host criticized the press for what he views as a lack of balanced coverage on the story.

“The coverage has been pretty one-sided,” Kurtz said. “What’s downplayed, minimized, sometimes ignored is that just about every day, Joe and Mika go on the air and attack Donald Trump in often very harshly personal terms.”

Kurtz––who did note that few people are “defending the substance of his tweet because it was so personal against a woman”––referenced Morning Joe attacks on Trump’s mental heath and stated his belief that the media is obligated to bring up those putdowns.

“Look, they’re entitled to do that under the First Amendment… and look, I get it, he’s the President, they’re a couple of cable news hosts,” Kurtz said “But I think when we tell the story here, the context should be that the battering that he has taken, I think, either got under his skin, or he just decided it was time to hit back.”
