Kayleigh McEnany and Outnumbered Guest Spar Over Whether Trump Gives Putin ‘Everything He Wants’

Outnumbered cohost Kayleigh McEnany sparred with guest Marie Harf over whether former President Donald Trump gives Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “everything he wants” and other foreign policy issues during a tense segment on Tuesday.

After playing a clip of President Joe Biden defending his decision to pull American military personnel out of Afghanistan in 2021 in a speech before the United Nations earlier in the day, McEnany submitted that both Putin and Iran watched the chaotic withdrawal and made the decision to be more aggressive on the world stage as a result.

“Trump had no new wars — no new wars. Peace through strength worked,” she argued.

“There’s a lot there, obviously, that I would take issue with,” replied Harf. “I think that, look, when it comes to Afghanistan, every president for several administrations has wanted to get out. Donald Trump negotiated an agreement to get out of Afghanistan. I have said repeatedly that the way it was done was not befitting of the service of two decades. And I think the Biden administration would agree with that. The decision to get out was the right one, the way it was done was not.”

Eventually, Harf got around to asserting that world leaders are “terrified” of Trump becoming president again, causing McEnany to interject.

“But you could assuage their worries by saying we have a four year experiment with Donald Trump and there were no new wars. We have a four year experiment with Donald Trump. The last year, after his call with the head of the Taliban, there was not a single U.S. service member killed overseas. But you would acknowledge that that’s an achievement,” said the ex-White House press secretary under Trump.

“I don’t think that that’s because of Donald Trump’s policies. I think there are a number of factors that go into the ebb and flow of wars and when people are put in harm’s way. And I think that, you know, when it comes to something like Ukraine, Vladimir Putin has been invading other countries for decades,” shot back Harf.

“On Obama’s watch and a Biden watch and not on Donald–,” countered McEnany.

“Because Donald Trump gives him everything he wants and kowtows,” said Harf.

“Except countries! There’s one thing Donald Trump does not give Putin, and its countries. That is what happened on Obama’s watch, it’s what happened on Biden’s watch,” concluded McEnany.
