Lindsey Graham Praises POTUS Oval Office Address to Hannity: ‘The Most Presidential I’ve Seen President Trump’

After the government shutdown and border wall address from the Oval Office on Tuesday night, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was on with Sean Hannity on Fox News to react, both to President Trump and to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer, the two Democratic leaders having delivered the response.

Graham had big praise for the president and sharp criticism for the Democrats. Which surely nobody could have predicted from a Republican senator on Hannity’s show on Fox News.

“This is the most presidential I have seen President Trump,” said Graham. “It was compelling and everything he said was true.”

Graham talked about the wall, and illustrated the concept of security for the American people by first stating how secure the Congress and White House are. “It’s pretty hard to get in the Capitol, really hard to get in the White House,” he said. “All the president is saying I would like to provide more security to the American people.”

“It is a crisis, Sean,” said Graham. “I have tried to be reasonable and practical, but when it comes to immigration – and I’m flabbergasted to hear from my Democratic colleagues who have voted for billions of dollars in border security money that this is manufactured. Was it manufactured when Obama wanted the money? No. Why did you give the money to Obama and Bush if it was a manufactured crisis?”

Hannity continued the point. “I think if you look, Hillary Clinton supported it, Chuck Schumer supported it, Biden supported it. Obama supported it.”

The two went on to discuss recent tragic deaths of American citizens, including a police officer, in incidents involving illegal immigrants.

“We have got to ask ourselves, if we lose 4,000 lives in a two-year period,” said Hannity, “is that a manufactured crisis?”
