Senate Hopeful Pete Hoekstra Tells Fox News That Controversial Ad Will Continue To Air
Former Michigan Representative Pete Hoekstra went on Fox News to elaborate on his Super Bowl ad that turned out to be a Super Bust. The ad sparked a serious backlash after airing in the precious Super Bowl commercial space. The “promotional” video featured an Asian women riding a bicycle through a rice field. The woman stopped to revere Hoekstra’s Democratic challenger for a Senate seat, Debbie Stabenow, cleverly renamed Debbie Spenditnow, in a form of broken English to further accentuate her ethnicity.
Hoekstra caused quite the fuss among ethnic groups in the area, including Rev. Charles William II, who stated, “Let me say unequivocally… Pete Hoekstra is a racist.” Others who have been offended by the Ad have demanded an apology.
Hoekstra tried to support his message by saying that it pointed out opportunities for improvement in America’s flawed economic policy. Flaws which, he says, he intends to fix as Pete “Spend it Not.” He also stated that the ad will continue to run despite the controversy.
