Morning Joe on Special Olympics Cuts: If Trump Administration Members ‘Were Nazis, They’d Be the Ones From Hogan’s Heroes’
Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough say members of the Trump administration who proposed Special Olympics funding cuts are not actual Nazis, but if they were, they’d be the ones from the television sitcom Hogan’s Heroes.
Mocking the people who defended President Donald Trump‘s funding cuts only for him to reverse course hours later, the MSNBC hosts laughed and joked that they’d make very “incompetent” Nazis.
“Whenever people get overcharged and start talking about Donald Trump and say, you know, they’re all Nazis, I say no, no, no, no, come on, they’re not Nazis. But if they were Nazis, they’d be the one’s from ‘Hogan’s Heroes,’” said Scarborough, referring to the incompetent commander character in the sitcom’s fictional Nazi camp: “I mean, this is Colonel Klink action here.”
Scarborough joked that personally, he’d rather compare Trump to the fictional, even less competent cartoon character Mr. Magoo, “where Donald Trump makes just an absolutely terrible political mistake, gets caught, then has to walk it back, but still has a damage lingering.”
