New York Times columnist Bari Weiss slammed President Trump for his handling of mass shootings in this country.
On Friday night, part of the panel discussion on Real Time with Bill Maher was the shooting at Santa Fe High School that left at least ten dead and other ten wounded.
Weiss invoked the Access Hollywood tape as one of the primary reasons why she couldn’t vote for Trump in the 2016 election and tied that to the subject.
“Well the NRA has Donald Trump grabbed by the p**y, okay?” Weiss told Bill Maher. “It’s appalling. The fact that we are not trying to do everything possible to try and stop these shootings is disgusting. You have to be 25 years old to rent a car. Why don’t you have to be 25 years old to buy a gun?”
She insisted that we should “try everything,” from refraining from naming the school shooters who “want the notoriety” to holding the Texas gunman’s father “criminally liable” since the gun used in the shooting belonged to him.
Sex columnist Dan Savage chimed in by suggesting suing gun manufacturers.
